Despite the rising number of Coronavirus positive cases in the state, the government has started the sale of alcohol from today. However, thekas in Indore and 10 other districts that are facing the wrath of the Covid-19 pandemic will remain shut.
The state has been divided into two zones – red and green, and the sale of alcohol is prohibited in all areas that come under the red zone.
Areas that come under the red zone include Indore and Ujjain districts, the municipal areas of Bhopal, Burhanpur, Jabalpur, Khandwa, and Dewas as well as municipality areas of Mandsuar, Neemuch, Dhar, and Kukshi. All the remaining districts in the state have been placed under the green zone.
Seventy-eight more positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Indore. While this, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the district has increased to 2,715, and 105 deaths have been reported so far.
While Indore in No.1 in the state when it comes to coronavirus case, with 5,465 coronavirus cases, Madhya Pradesh stands at No. 6 among all states and union territories in India.
